Ipod touch will not work in my car?
A few years ago I had a new radio put into my car that I can hook my ipod up to. Then I had a classic Ipod, then I got a 1st gen ipod touch. Those both worked
Recently I got a 2nd gen ipod touch. It has the speakers and they work fine, but when I hook it up to my car and play it, it plays through the speaker of the ipod and not through the car speakers. I understand that it realizes there are no headphones attached, but is there any way I can get it to play in my car?
I googled it a bit and turned off everything in sounds, but it still will not work.
The cord for my car is one that fits in the bottom of the ipod like the cord that hooks into the usb of computers. I don’t have a cord that connects to the headphone jack.
Can anyone help me get it working?

This is actually a common problem with the new generation of IPOD’s. The pin configuration under the IPOD has changed. The radio you have is programed for the old pin configuration and not the new one. I have an older Pioneer flip out radio in my car, While I can play music from my IPOD it will not charge. Depending on the radio you might be able to upgrade to the new cable. Unfortunately not all older radios will support the new cable, you may need to get a new radio. Apple decided to change the pin configurations on all IPOD’s and this is a common problem people are having.
