I need to find out what type of 2 way radio to go with for my business?
We are looking into getting 2 way radio’s that we can talk about 50+ miles on, what type do I need? were looking on ebay for used units, and have noticed UHF, VHF, 800mhz, and lower mhz units, our local radio shop is giving me the runaround because they want to sell us the radios and service for repeating…
so are there any handhelds that can go that far without repeater service? or what type should we go with? any info can help thanks!

The first answer is quite correct.
You will not get any VHF or UHF radios that will do that distance without repeaters.
HF radios may go that far but they will be high powered , expensive , you wont get them on ebay and there will be a significant license cost to the government every year.
I strongly discourage the temptation to use ham radios for this.
A person operating a ham radio without the appropriate license will be liable for forfeture of the equipment , a $10,000 fine and possibly a jail term with a federal record to go with it.
Stick with cell fones and use the bill as a tax deduction.
They are reliable , small , light and ”legal”.
